Today I went to dive practice and we are doing backs. I do some back jumps just fine, I’m nailing my back dives, I move onto back somersaults and I’m rotating over on these so my coach asks if I would like to take them up to 3m. I’m a tad reluctant to do so, but I know the worse thing that can happen is, I over rotate. So I ask all my team mates: Do you think I should take back 1 1/2’s up? All of them are advocating I do it telling me “Hell yeah” “Duh! You should, there not scary” so I do!
Of course I spin waaaayyyyy too fast and landed flat onto my thighs and stomach instead of my hands or face. I come to surface and yell “Shit” and then I sink back to bottom where I’m just screaming underwater. I come up to all of the swim team clapping and yelling at me that “I’m fearless” and my dive friends telling me I’m such a boss I should have just kicked out.
Oh man I have NEVER bruised so quickly and on such a large surface.
